What is more classic for the football season than a creamy, delicious Buffalo Chicken Dip? I’ve done a couple dips on my page now, and this one is by far one of my favorites – it’s creamy, cheesy with a bit of spice and perfect for all your dipping needs.

Ingredients for Buffalo Chicken Dip
I love this Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe because only a few ingredients to make the best dip for your next party, game day or appetizer spread! Here are the ingredients you’ll need:
- 2 cups chicken breast shredded, 10oz
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (I used Frank’s)
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 2 scallions chopped
Topping
- 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
INGREDIENTS TIPS
CREAM CHEESE
Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature before mixing your ingredients! This will allow for a creamier mixture. If you have a handheld or stand mixer, those can be helpful too!
CHICKEN
I like to use poached chicken breast (just boiled in salted water until the chicken’s internal temperature reaches 165F) BUT you can always use store bought rotisserie chicken (or shredded chicken breast) – whatever is easiest for you!
Buffalo Chicken Dip: Recipe Instructions
Mixing the Dip
In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, hot sauce, ranch, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper until smooth. My key tip here is to use softened cream cheese prior to mixing – just let it sit out on the counter a few minutes before you plan to make the dip to let it come to room temperature.
Once the cheese has mixed and is relatively smooth, add the shredded chicken, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, and scallions and fold it all in together to form your dip.
Transfer to an oven safe container
Once the dip is mixed and the chicken, cheese and scallions are folded in, transfer the dip to an oven safe dish and spread evenly. Top with more shredded cheese and now we’re ready to bake!
Bake until golden brown
Add the dip to a preheated 400F oven and bake the dip for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese has melted and bubbling. Top with freshly chopped scallions and serve with chips, vegetable sticks, crackers, and enjoy!

Made this for Super Bowl Sunday this year and it was so good! It requires a number of ingredients but they’re mostly pantry staples so it was pretty easy to throw together
Tried this recipe out for a basketball watch party…IT WAS A HIT!
Great as an appetizer while watching the game while we wait for the wings to come out!
This was so easy and everyone loved it
This is a great football party dip!! Everyone enjoyed it!
Ive made this a couple times since I first saw it on Instagram for the superbowl. It’s very much a staple in the house on appetizer night and it’s the chopped scallions that won it over the others I’ve made. Amazing dish! Thank you for sharing CJ.
