A Note from CJ
Garlic Noodles with Crab are so good!

I love how simple but special this dish feels – the crab really takes simple Garlic Noodles to the next level!
If you’re also a garlic lover like I am, making my Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Garlic Bread, Garlic Fried Rice, Garlic Bok Choy, Din Tai Fung Garlic Green Beans, or Garlic Herb Compound Butter (or Benihana Garlic Butter!)
This recipe is amazing! It has become a staple at my house. Restaurant-quality taste and so simple to make!
Ingredient Tips
Refer to the recipe card for the full list of ingredients and measurements!
- noodles – I like using fresh egg noodles (available in the refrigerated section) but you can use any long noodle, like wheat noodles, ramen noodles, and even spaghetti.
- garlic – use freshly minced garlic for best results
- fish sauce – this is the ‘secret ingredient’ for delicious garlic noodles – it adds a depth of flavor and umami.
- msg – I use MSG in moderation as an optional flavor enhancer.
- fresh or canned crab meat – I prefer using fresh, lump crab meat for this recipe, but you could certainly use canned crab or swap out the protein entirely for one like chicken, shrimp, or steak!
How to Make Garlic Noodles with Crab
Mix Sauce and Cook Noodles – In a small bowl, combine oyster sauce, fish sauce, light soy sauce, MSG optional, and sugar, and hot water. Mix to combine and sugar is dissolved and set aside. Cook noodles to package directions and drain well and set aside, reserving a cup of the noodle cooking water for the sauce to use as needed.
Saute Garlic, Add Sauce and Crab – In a large pan over medium low heat, melt butter, then add minced garlic and sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Add the sauce and bring to a low simmer and cook for 2 minutes to reduce slightly, then add the crab and mix in to warm through.
Add Noodles – Turn the heat up to high, then add cooked noodles. Mix well until the noodles are combined with the butter, garlic, sauce, and crab and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes and the noodles are fragrant. Garnish with scallions and enjoy!

My Pro Tip
CJ’s Storage Tips
Store any leftover Garlic Noodles with Crab in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. The noodles will soften and stick together – this is normal. I like to reheat them in the microwave with a damp paper towel on top (to lightly steam) or in a pan with 1/4 cup of water to help loosen up the noodles/reheat the sauce.
